Two things that opened my eyes about accessibility

In recent years I've read a few variations of these two ideas from a few different sources:

1. We will all either die young or become disabled.

2. We need to advocate for accessibility now — when we're older we'll wish more people had.

If those don't convince ya, I don't know what will.

I've been passionate about accessibility on the web for years, even before it was technically in my wheelhouse, and before most companies were taking it seriously. I want you to become passionate about it too. As agency professionals, we should be. As human beings, we should be.

Following accessibility guidelines also increases the chances of our work being successful for our clients. And work that's designed to be accessible also performs better for users without disabilities. It's all benefit, zero drawback. Let's talk to our clients about it; when we position it this way it's an easy sell.
