About Manning Makes Stuff
Hiya, I'm Manning Krull, and I love making monster masks and spooky decorations for Halloween and Mardi Gras, weird sculptures and home decor, etc. I get asked a lot about how I make all these things, so I decided to start documenting some of my processes; my article on my paper maché process and materials is how most people end up at this site. I write about all of my projects and I try to show as many work-in-progress pictures as possible.
In real life I'm an accessibility consultant working in digital media, and earlier in my career I was a web designer/developer and technology director. I've also been an illustrator pretty much my whole life, and I've always been drawn to monsters and spooky things in general. I currently live in New Orleans. My wife and I are proud members of a phantasmagorical Mardi Gras marching krewe called Cryptique; join us!
I'm self-taught in paper maché, illustration, graphic design, and all of the other creative things I do. Anyone can make art, regardless of your level of experience or talent! It's really fun! It's seriously like the main thing that keeps me sane.
