“Gras-goyle” gargoyle costume for Mardi Gras 2025

Published by Manning on March 11th, 2025

This here “Gras-goyle” costume for Mardi Gras 2025 was one of my most ambitious projects ever! I’ve written up my whole process in seven(!) articles. If you’re having trouble sleeping, these may help! And below are a bunch of pics of me wearing the finished costume on Mardi Gras day with Cryptique.

A forward-facing view of my costume during our parade.

Here’s the full list of articles documenting my process for this costume:

My Mardi Gras gargoyle costume; a purple gargoyle sitting on a purple column, walking down the street in a small parade.

Another view of my costume during our parade.

A close view of the top part of my costume during our parade.

Yet another view of my costume during our parade.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this, check this out! While we were on one of our breaks during our parade, some random lady asked if she could put my costume on, and I said sure! My friend Chuk was off to the side and took this pic. Hilarious.

And that’s really and truly all for this year’s costume! What a fantastic Mardi Gras and Carnival season! You may not be surprised to hear that next year is already in the works…
